French DEMENT3D artists Francois X (also of Deeply Rooted House) and Heartbeat come together for 1 hour of choice house & techno selections.

The pair had the following to say about the mix:

The set was recorded almost exactly 5 years day-for-day after our very first set together, a spontaneous unplanned B2B that went on for hours, and that has certainly been one of the defining moments of our record label DEMENT3D.

This one goes out to all the DJs that are fighting to make it happen in their lost cities.

Mixed live in the studio with some top notch Bourbon from Kentucky, a rotary mixer and only vinyl.

Subversive + Voiski on Construct Re-Form (FR)

Subversive releases his second EP on Construct Re-Form alongside Parisian operative Voiski. Their mission: Deception Plan.

Deception Plan is a plan of action executed by two operatives coordinating from two different cities, Los Angeles and Paris. The two locations brings together two different modes of music to form the plan. The operatives take camouflage in the plan, letting the music be at the center. The sound created by the plan is loaded with deep synths and driving drums with melodies that try to reach the subconscious, a type of psychological warfare. The operative at the Paris location is Doryan Javan, a discrete urban warrior and activist, formerly working as a night taxi driver. His musical activity is obscure and unknown. He is leaving in a south red banlieue of Paris, producing techno near his family and friends of the French electronic youth squad. The operative in Los Angeles is R. Hernandez aka Subversive. He has operated for projects like Historia and Violencia and currently participates with the droidbehavior infrastructure in L.A. since 2002, mixing under the codename Subversive. Hernandez creates a chord driven, dub influenced techno sound.

DJing in France since the early ’90s, Zadig has always focused on selection and technique, crossing lines between hypnotic, deep techno and its more acid-tinged, jacking counterparts. He’s made music for Plastic, Syncrophone, Panam, and Sino, as well as his own Construct Re-Form, which will soon unveil its 3rd release including a Roman Lindau remix. For Droid he presents this mix of deep techno, hard, jacking grooves, and a couple Droid Recordings.

Connecting the dots between Detroit, Chicago, New York, and European techno outposts, Parisian Francois X came onto the scene through DJ Deep’s Deeply Rooted House and today runs the monthly Francois X Radioshow. He is also closely associated with french underground music militants DEMENT3D crew of which we were first introduced to through Voiski on D-Node 133. For this installment of D-node, Francois dives into techno’s deeper side.

D-Node 133: Voiski | Dement3d + Silicate

Voiski aka VSK is the silent type, hiding behind enigmatic pseudonyms. Part of the French electronic scene, art director and active member of DEMENT3D crew, he is also a head of silicate records. As a techno-oriented producer he’s released tracks on Groom records, Neopren, and WT Records with one of his side projects: Kartei.

Voiski recorded this set live in an empty warehouse, helped by two friends. They installed a huge sound system and recorded in one shot, mixing the intensity of high volume with the space’s romantic absence. The live section is followed by a short DJ set of deep, warm techno.

Preamble:
In mathematics the recurrence theorem states that certain systems will, after a sufficiently long time, return to a state very close to the initial state. The recurrence time is the length of time elapsed until the recurrence. The result applies to physical systems in which energy is conserved.
