Frenchman Damien Lapéna’s a man of pseudonyms, Alejandro Trebor being the best known name with recent releases on Hidden Recordings and Trapez. The Plant Worker is his guise for classically-inspired techno, the sound of frustrated cities both glittering and decayed, subterranean machines, and the techno-world vision that inspired the genre’s birth. No nonsense.
Bill Youngman emerged onto the techno scene in the mid ’90s with “Electrostep” on NYC label Serotonin. He’s since released a steady stream of idiosyncratic tracks reimaging the popular techno blueprint through a more experimental lens, including a series of EPs with Neil Landstrumm. Now he’s affiliated with Berlin label Killekill, having recently put out the Shadent 12″, an edit of which is in the mix below. For D-Node 162, Bill has delivered a unique live PA wherein you will find him constructing / deconstructing original productions / edits and finding different paths around the beat using a mix of hardware and software including Native Instrument’s Maschine. I have seen him perform first hand at Berlin’s Suicide Circus and i can assure you… Bill is as live as it gets.

Detroit native Claude Young‘s been releasing excellent techno music since the early 90s on some of the best labels, and he’s been DJing even longer. Behind the decks he showcases an aggressive Detroit style, fearlessly manipulating tracks and transitions. Recorded live at our PRIME event in November, this mix is no exception.
Swedish talent Mikael Jonasson has released impressive number of records in recent years on on Figure, Harthouse, Koba, and Driving Forces. Through these releases he’s gradually refining his own sound and finding himself alongside Europe’s techno greats. We’re pleased to present this mix showcasing his sound with mostly his own original productions and remixes.

“Perc will head to the US to play a weekend of parties, beginning in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 7th. A veteran DJ and producer with a penchant for industrialized, broken beat techno, Perc has made tracks for numerous labels like CLR, Stroboscopic Artefacts and Electric Deluxe, where he’s collaborated with Giorgio Gigli under the alias Endless. Of course, he’s just as well known for Perc Trax, the label he founded in 2004 which has put out similarly tough and experimental sounds from ASC, Forward Strategy Group and others, and which got our nod for label of the month last December. For this upcoming mini-tour Perc is set to team up with three of his label’s American artists including Jeff Derringer, who’s on the bill at all three events. First up on Thursday the 7th is a party at Medusa Lounge in LA, hosted by Droid Behavior, followed by a night in Denver with Mick Finesse at 2200. The weekend winds down in New York at National Underground with the next edition of Derringer’s Oktave party, where Donor is also confirmed.” - RA press release.
