Advanced Human has released his own sounds through labels like Synewave, Counter Pulse, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, and Gynoid Audio, the latest of which is a 3-track contribution to the Counter Pulse series. His trademark sound is based on exploring the uncharted terrains of deep and gritty techno, with a strong affinity for dub chords and crunchy atmospheres surrounded by intricate percussion and a drive aimed at the dance floor. So deep and driving. That’s the idea, and this week’s mix transmits it.

Rich Jones has put out a steady stream of successful 12″ records over the past few years, many on 8 Sided Dice Recordings, and also Soma (“Depth Charge”) and soon Richie Hawtin’s Minus label, among others. After ten years of DJing with turntables of and outboard effects, he switched to an Ableton-based setup, allowing him to composite multiple layers of audio into an inventive live/DJ hybrid. “Hypnotic” defines Jones’ aesthetic, and he uses the “Operator” moniker to indicate his deeper side. This one’s an Operator mix and features Jones’ own tracks as well as past D-Node guests Peter van Hoesen, Silent Servant, Developer, DVS1, Egor Boss, Aubrey, Space DJz, and our own Truncate.

Sub Static label boss Falko Brocksieper curates this week’s D-Node mix ahead of his upcoming Album “Shortcake Strategy.” The mix showcases Falko’s current and classic influences with tracks from Neil Landstruum, Barker and Baumecker, WK7, as well as two tracks from the “Shortcake Strategy” LP.
