Dead Sound, AKA Paul Carroll, made techno waves with his 2nd release, this year’s “The Chosen” with Videohead on Perc Trax, to be followed by a solo EP in the next month or two. His experimental blend of techno, IDM, and dubstep has made it into the sets of DJs/performers including Perc, Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Richie Hawtin, James Ruskin, and Xhin. Droid teams up with Derek Michael and Friendly Integration for this month’s edition of PRIME. This installment will feature a very special guest performance and US debut from Szare aka 19.26.1.18.5 of Horizontal Ground fame. Not much is known about the artist or label except the releases have been of the utmost quality and highly sought after by those in the techno world. The second Droid European Tour of 2011 comes during the fall season. Individual dates for Drumcell, Audio Injection and Raíz have been announced from the end of September to the end of October with appearances in Brussels, Amsterdam (ADE), Malta, Greece, France, London, Berlin and all over Germany. VSK is the silent type, hiding behind enigmatic pseudonyms. Part of the French electronic scene, art director and active member of DEMENT3D crew, he is also a head of silicate records. As a techno-oriented producer he’s released tracks on Groom records, Neopren, and WT Records with one of his side projects: Kartei.

VSK recorded this set live in an empty warehouse, helped by two friends. They installed a huge sound system and recorded in one shot, mixing the intensity of high volume with the space’s romantic absence. The live section is followed by a short DJ set of deep, warm techno.
